At our Brightstar boxing academy, we run open boxing sessions and competitive squad training.
We're proud to work as a team to support absolutely everyone with their goals.
Everything we do is based on our values of believe, belong and become.
We know the massive difference boxing, mentoring, education and community support can make when it comes to empowering these positive changes, especially for vulnerable people and young people at risk. We run the Brightstar Boxing Academy, Brightstar Futures and Brigthstar Community programmes across the West Midlands.
FIND OUT MOREOur boxing academy is based in Shifnal, Shropshire. We run a variety of sessions to suit absolutely everyone, including our competitive amateur squad, open adult sessions and junior sessions.
Brightstar Futures is our alternative education programme. We work with young people aged 10-16 across the West Midlands, who are finding a mainstream school environment challenging and who may be at risk of being permanently excluded or becoming NEET.
FIND OUT MOREWe use a combination of boxing and talking in our Community sessions to support varied and vulnerable groups. These sessions include our Counterpunch mental health groups and mentoring.
FIND OUT MOREThe coach has been through what I have been through. If he can change, so can I.
The programme has shown me how I can be in control. I am responsible and will achieve my goals.
I now have the right people around me.
Being around people that are going through the same things as me, but helping each other on the programme and in life shows me I'm not alone.
I am able to release my aggression in a positive way.
The students look forward to attending every week. The provision has improved their school experience.
Brightstar has given me a future.
Thank you to Bright Star. The young people have opened up more than ever and we have been able to get the right support in place for them.
We have seen him use the coping strategies put in place within the school and it has kept him calm.
I am no longer thinking I can't, instead I think how can I. Thank you for helping me transform.
